Purification Blog

on Jul 11 in Purification & Detox posted by

Hello, my name is Kiel Sigafoos and I am a current wrap-around client at Synergy Integrative Health. For the first time in many years pre Synergy Integrative Health, I can honestly say that the different services that Synergy Integrative Health offers have helped me to live a healthy lifestyle and just feel better in general.
Dr. Karen spoke to me about Standard Process and how it can benefit an individual’s health through purification. Purification is merely the internal cleansing and detoxification of your body. I’m 25 years old so you may be wondering why I chose to take on Standard Process?… Read below.

According to the Standard Process website: “purification, also known as detoxification, can help you remove natural toxins from your body and help maintain a healthy weight. We are exposed to external toxins everyday, including pollutants, pesticides, and chemicals. Internally our bodies produce waste byproducts as a result of normal metabolic function. Although your body is designed to rid itself of these toxins naturally, it can become overburdened. Purification offers your body additional support to expel natural toxins and minimize your weight, which is important to maintaining your health and vitality.
Toxins can contribute to a wide range of conditions:

Stuffy head
Fatigue or difficulty sleeping
Digestion and other gastrointestinal problems
Food cravings and weight gain
Reduced mental clarity”

Over the next three weeks. This blog will be updated weekly with my journal entries day by day of my experience with the Standard Process Cleanse. These are my honest and true thoughts about the Standard Process Cleanse as my main mission during this process is to inform others on the pros/cons of Standard Process.

Alignment Based Yoga

on May 26 in Promotions posted by

Yoga Bucks County Doylestown, PA

Join us every Thursday at 6:30 PM! Call to register or schedule a private session today!

Just as Synergy Integrative Health is focused on treating the individual, this style of yoga will guide students through postures at their pace, with a focus on optimal alignment for each student in the class. Back Pain? Shoulder Pain? Tension in your neck? Everyday misalignment caused by “forward posture” sitting at a computer, driving, etc, can cause pain and discomfort throughout the body. Our busy days running from one thing to the next can sometimes take our minds from what matters most, causing various discomforts or anxiety.

A yoga practice can help bring mind and body into a more neutral and settled place. From there we feel grounded, steady, and more open to lifeʼs challenges. Yoga means “to yoke,” or “union” of mind, body, and spirit. When we take time to connect all parts of ourselves, we are able to identify our most genuine and joyful self, and from there, are also best prepared to be there for our loved ones.

So what does a class “look” like? In this semi-private yoga setting, the teacher is able to give close attention to each studentʼs needs. Students will be led step by step into poses that will build strength and power, as well as flexibility and opening. The poses you may see in magazines and books are just examples of the possibilities of what yoga has to offer, but is certainly not necessarily the “goal!” The intention is up to you, but from the eyes of the teacher, the classʼs focus will be on studentsʼ individual expressions to their fullest potential. With a focus on alignment and awareness of breath, sessions are highly therapeutic and centering. Questions are encouraged and all levels are welcomed.

Come with curiosity and an open heart and the yoga will help you align with your greatest self.

Service of the Month: Thai Massage

Q: What is Thai Massage (Nuad Bo-Rarn)?

A: Thai massage is a unique experience in soft tissue manipulation that combines acupressure, breath work, and yoga in one gentle, effective therapy. While its true origins are unknown, it is believed that Thai massage has its roots in the ancient medicine of Indian Ayurvedic practice.

Q: What is the process?

A: Traditional Thai massage is performed on a mat, with the client fully clothed. This allows for the most effective use of the practitioner’s body weight to administer pressure rather than muscular force. The work consists mainly of acupressure along energy lines (Sen*) and points, and a variety of stretching movements.
* Sen lines are reminiscent of the meridians of Acupuncture and the theory of energy flow, however where meridians follow the energy flow to specific organs, Sen follow the form of the body.

Q: Who can benefit from this type of massage?

A: This therapy is beneficial to a wide range of clients*. Because of its effectiveness in inducing deep rest and relaxation, it is beneficial to anyone in need of stress reduction or with stress related disorders. The stretching movements are useful to those who would like to improve on their muscular flexibility.
* Like many therapies, there are some contraindications to consider: it is highly recommended not to receive this therapy during pregnancy, due to the length of time lying on the back. It is also cautionary for clients with any history of circulatory or heart conditions and varicosities. Please advise your practitioner accordingly.

Q: What experience can a client expect from this type of therapy?

A: Clients will vary in their response, depending on their initial condition at the start of the therapy. The client should leave the treatment with a feeling of deep relaxation and an increased sense of natural energy flow, inducing balance and harmony to the body.

Service of the Month: Acupuncture

on Mar 17 in Promotions posted by

Its been around for thousands of years…doesn’t that speak for itself?

Now is the time to experience this ancient form of healing. Acupuncture can relieve pain, emotional and physical stress, allergy symptoms, and many other conditions too numerous to list.

Schedule now through April 13th and receive:
20% off initial treatment – now $60!
Follow up package of 6 treatments at 10% off – now only $351!
*Call your Health Care Provider to see if you are eligible to receive reimbursement from your insurance and health care spending account*

So that you can gain some insight on this modality, we conducted a Q&A with Acupuncturist Kerri Neubek:

Q: What is Acupuncture?
A: Acupuncture is very simply an ancient healing art that uses thin, pre-sterilized and disposable needles inserted into specific points on the body in order to bring one’s energy back into balance thereby allowing the body to heal itself.

Q: Who can benefit from Acupuncture?
A: Literally anyone can benefit from acupuncture. Oriental Medicine theorizes that whenever there is any disorder or disease it is because one’s energy, or Qi, is stagnant or deficient. These disorders include the emotional and physical. So whether it’s stress, anxiety, depression, allergies, menstrual issues, sinus problems, etc., acupuncture can help. No one’s energy is ever completely balanced so even if there are no apparent issues, acupuncture can ‘tune you up’ to keep you healthy.

Q: What can the end result be for someone who receives acupuncture treatments?
A: Every case is completely individual, however, our goal is always to relieve whatever complaints you come in with. If after 6 treatments we aren’t getting the results we want, I will always refer the patient to try another modality.

Q: How many sessions does it take to eliminate or help eliminate one of the reasons that someone would be treated for Acupuncture?
A: I always recommend a series of 10 treatments, coming in either once or twice a week. Some people will need more treatments, some might need less; it all depends on how chronic the complaint is. Follow up maintenance sessions once every 4-6 weeks after the initial sessions helps to keep the energy flowing!

Q: What is the Process of Acupuncture?
A: The process is very simple. Based on your symptoms and pulses I will determine where to place the needles and have you lie either on your stomach, side or back depending on what areas need to be addressed. Sometimes you will need to remove some clothing in order to have access to the points we need to treat. It only takes a couple of minutes to insert the needles, you will then completely relax for 25 minutes in a private room, after which time I will remove the needles and you’re on your way.

February: CranioSacralTherapy (CST)

on Jan 25 in Promotions posted by

Headaches, Backache, Neck or Body Tension that doesn’t go away????

If you answered “yes” to any of the above statements, then CranioSacralTherapy (CST) may be your answer to achieving a healthier lifestyle!
This Month at Synergy Integrative Health, we have our focus on CranioSacral Therapy. Like the other services of the month, if you schedule an appointment for CranioSacral Therapy, you’ll receive 20% off!!!

Offer good until Feb 18th.

Q: What is CranioSacral Therapy?
A: CranioSacral therapy is very light, gentle touch done on a massage table with the client fully clothed. It produces a very deep state of relaxation (deeper than sleep) in which the body and mind can let go of tension in the
tissues to heal.

Q: Who is the practitioner and what is their background?
A: Cheryl Lombardi has suffered from her own TMJ issues which were never solved with traditional dental approaches, including upper and lower jaw surgery. Cheryl started on the “alternative” approach for herself and others and has been practicing CranioSacral therapy for about 7 years.

Q: Who can benefit from CST?
A: Everyone can benefit from this very gentle therapy.

Q:. What experience can a client expect from this treatment?
A: The most common response from a CST session is one of surprise at how their body completely relaxes. With that state of relaxation, the body finally has a chance to heal and feel better. CST is an opportunity to experience what this “feeling” of ease and relaxation is like!

Q: How many sessions does it take to eliminate or help eliminate one of the reasons that someone would go for CST?
A: Cheryl likes to see what the response is after the first session. For continued improvement in body function and “ease” of well-being, the practitioner and client may determine the number of sessions needed.

Remember to schedule your CranioSacral Therapy appointment before February 18th to receive your 20% off!

Call today: 215-230-7442

Free sampling of CranioSacral Therapy – mark your calendars!!!

Come visit Synergy on Saturday, January 29th between 12-3 and receive a FREE sampling of CranioSacral Therapy!

CST will bring you to new levels of relaxation that will calm that tightness and anxiety in your body and mind.

Using a mas sage table with the client fully clothed, this therapy is very different than most bodywork and produces a state of relaxation deeper than sleep, allowing your body to self heal.
